tout d'abord merci à vous tous pour votre patience car post extrêmement long
ainsi qu'aux modérateurs.
Une fois de plus je vais remettre le couvert sur un sujet qui me tient à cœur
Les Montres et l'Aviation ...
tout d'abord j'accuse !!!
oui j'accuse cet homme, qui se tient là ! debout dans l'ombre,
d'être en grande partie le responsable de cet passion qui m'anime (Aviation)
j'ai nommé "HOWARD HUGUES" j'en parlerai plus bas.

pour le moment je vais faire défilé quelques photos de ce que j'ai
déniché il y a quelques mois en Californie sortie tout droit d'un tiroir
d'Horloger d'une base US AIR FORCE
en trouver 1 c'est bien vu la rareté...
mais 6 il y a que dans ce genre d'endroit que c'est possible.

mais c'est le genre d'objet dont je raffole lié directement à ma collection
je vais tenter de faire glisser doucement le post vers l'aviation sans que
cela soit un hors sujet si les modérateurs ne supprime pas cela sera un
véritable tour de force 
juste deux mots pour revenir à Howard HUGUES
il fut le pionner dans bien des domaines
il démocratisa les voyages en avion pour le grand public
à l'époque le voyage en avion était réservé aux élites
Howard Robard Hughes (né le 24 décembre 1905 à Houston où il est mort le 5 avril 1976),
est un aviateur, constructeur aéronautique, homme d'affaires, producteur et
réalisateur cinématographique américain. Il fut l'un des hommes les plus
riches et les plus puissants des États-Unis d'Amérique. Il devint célèbre à
la fin des années 1920 comme producteur de films à gros budget
Aviateur, il établit plusieurs records mondiaux de vitesse et construisit
les avions Hughes H-1 Racer et H-4 "Hercules", un des plus grands avions du
monde. Il acheta et développa la Trans World Airlines.

Hughes reste aussi connu comme playboy et homme à femmes mais aussi pour son
comportement excentrique et pour avoir vécu reclus les dernières années de sa
vie, principalement à cause de troubles mentaux.

1) NC-18601 Honolulu Clipper January 1939
Pacific service. Remained with Pan Am during the War. Crashed into Navy
vessel taking it under tow and was sunk on November 14, 1945 in Pacific.

Pacific service. Renamed Pacific Clipper. Sold to the U.S.
Navy in 1942.
Sold to World Airways after the War and was scrapped in 1950.
Completed the first round-the-world flight by a commercial aircraft after
continuing west from New Zealand after the bombing of Pearl Harbor almost one month earlier, 06-Jan-1942
3) NC-18603 Yankee Clipper February 1939
Atlantic service. Inaugurated the first scheduled trans-Atlantic flight
(mail only), 20-May-1939 (Port Washington, New York-Horta-Lisbon-Marseilles)
Purchased by the U.S. Navy in 1942, but operated by Pan Am.
Crashed and sank in River Tagus near Lisbon, Portugal on February 22, 1943
4) NC-18604 Atlantic Clipper March 1939
Atlantic service. Purchased by the U.S. Navy in 1942, but operated by Pan Am. Salvaged for parts
5) NC-18605 Dixie Clipper April 1939 Atlantic service.
Inaugurated trans-Atlantic passenger service, 29-Jun-1939 (Port Washington, New York-Horta-Lisbon-Marseilles)
Purchased by the U.S. Navy in 1942, but operated by Pan Am.
Sold after the War to World Airways and scrapped in 1950.
President Roosevelt was flown to the Casablanca Conference, to meet with
Churchill and Stalin, on January 14, 1943, thus becoming the first in-office
president to fly, and the 314 Dixie Clipper the first presidential airplane.
6)NC-18606 American Clipper June 1939 Atlantic service.
Sold to the U.S. Navy in 1942.
Sold to World Airways after the War and was scrapped in 1950
7) NC-18607 April 1941 Ordered by Pan Am.
Sold to the British Purchasing Commission and used by BOAC. became G-AGBZ Bristol After the War they were sold to World Airways - 1948
8) NC-18608 April 1941 Ordered by Pan Am.
Sold to the British Purchasing Commission and used by BOAC.
became G-AGCA Berwick After the War they were sold to World Airways - 1948
9) NC-18609 Pacific Clipper May 1941 Pacific service.
Purchased by the U.S. Navy in 1946. After the War it was sold to Universal Airlines. It was damaged in a storm and subsequently salvaged for parts.
10) NC-18610 April 1941 Ordered by Pan Am.
Sold to the British Purchasing Commission and used by BOAC; became G-AGCB Bangor After the War it was sold to World Airways - 1948.
11) NC-18611 Anzac Clipper June 1941 Pacific and Atlantic service. Sold to the U.S. Navy in 1942.
Sold to American International Airways after the War in 1947 and then to World Airways in 1948; sold again in 1951 and destroyed in Baltimore, Maryland in late 1951.
12) NC-18612 Capetown Clipper August 1941 Atlantic service.
Sold to the U.S. Navy in 1942.
Sold to American International Airways in 1947.
Was sunk at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard on October 14, 1947
